Skincare And Lifestyle Tips To Make Your Skin Look Less Tired

You may think that your tired appearance is just due to a lack of sleep but in reality, there are other factors such as poor diet and not properly removing makeup which can also be responsible for making skin look a bit lacklustre.

Don’t get us wrong, a lack of sleep can wreak havoc on your body – whether you’re up early or struggling to fall asleep, a bad night’s sleep can leave you feeling slow and sluggish. This can also make you more irritable and you might find it more difficult to concentrate at work or at school.

But what effect can a lack of sleep have on your skin?

One of the first telltale signs you’re not getting enough sleep is dark circles under your eyes which can be hard to hide, even with concealer, and will stop you from looking your best

If your sleep struggles continue for more than a few weeks, it can have a big impact on your complexion. Stress and tiredness have a huge impact on your skin which can leave it looking dull and tired. Scarily, some of the impacts can even be long term as a lack of sleep can actually accelerate the ageing process.

When you add in additional factors like stress and poor nutrition, it’s really hard to look and feel your best. Here we’re going to share some simple tips to get your skin feeling radiant and vibrant again!

5 Tips For Less Tired Skin

Rethink your eye cream

The skin around our eyes is one of the thinnest and most sensitive areas on our face. It takes in all that we put it through – from everyday stress to late nights, so it’s important to take care of this delicate skin.

A specialised eye cream can help to reduce puffiness, dark circles and other signs of ageing around your eyes so you look refreshed all day long!

Almond oil is the perfect way to combat those tired eye signs so you should look for a cream containing this magic ingredient, much like our Naira Under Eye Cream. Packed with almond oil, this silky, fast-absorbing morning and night cream is an effective way to reduce the appearance of puffiness. It nourishes the fragile skin around your eyes to allow it to look refreshed and radiant for longer periods!

Introduce cold showers

If you’re not a morning person, try taking an ice-cold shower! At first, this can sound daunting but this icy blast will get your senses tingling and help to smooth out the superficial creases from your face. Hot water can strip away natural oils of skin which lead it to become dry but cold water helps constrict blood vessels for temporary tightness in pores and to lessen the redness.

Hydrate your skin

Dehydrated skin isn’t just bad for your health, it’s bad for how you look too! Dry skin tends to be low in lipids – the fatty acids that help give our skin its bounce. Dullness, irritation and flakiness are telltale signs of dehydrated skin. Not only do these characteristics make you uncomfortable but they also cause tired-looking appearances which no one wants.

So what can you do?

  • To start with, drink plenty of water. If your skin is thirsty, it needs hydrating! Hydration will keep the elasticity and tone tight so that your skin will have a gorgeous, smooth texture.
  • Use a deeply nourishing skin lotion. For dry skin, we recommend our Aahana Rich Moisturising Cream. This rich cream absorbs quickly, moisturises deeply and protects against environmental stressors to help keep your complexion looking young. It’s wonderful for sensitive skin too!

Have a nighttime skincare routine

You’re probably already aware of the importance of a morning skincare routine, but did you know that nighttime routines are just as important for your skin health? Applying skin lotions or creams before bedtime means they can work their magic while you sleep. This means when you wake up in the morning, you’ll always wake up looking refreshed. #iwokeuplikethis

Our Navya Anti-Ageing Night Cream is the nighttime skincare cream you’ve been looking for. It contains Jasmine essential oil for its ability to help reduce stress and promote sleep, helping to unwind after a long day!

Invest in your sleep

We all know that sleep is important but many of us don’t get enough of it because we’re too busy. There are a few things you can do to help your body and mind relax in order to improve the quality and duration of your slumber. Limiting your screen time before bed, sticking to a regular bedtime and resisting caffeine later in the day, can all help you to achieve a good night’s sleep!
